Daniel first took me to see baby lambs when we went away for a mini-break to Climping, West Sussex. He had found a local farm where all the baby lambs were being born and I got to hold a little fellow who had been rejected by his mummy and was being kept warm under a heat lamp, being fed by the farmer’s wife. He was so soft and cuddly. Daniel had to instruct me to put him down after a while, and let the (long queue of) children have a hold. Apparently I had been hogging holding the baby lamb whilst a line of patient children waited their turn. Whoops.
So, when we hear that there is a temporary Easter baby zoo on the green in the village a couple of weekends back – I was there with bells on it. Baby ducklings, baby lambs, baby goats, baby chicks, baby rabbits.
Hey baby lamb – your soooo gorgeous.
Little fellow – can I put you in my pocket and take you home?
Can you guess which one I wanted to steal?
Thumper, is that you????
Back to my favourites.
Too soon it was time for the baby animals to go back home so (reluctantly) we went off to have a cup of tea with some friends, and dream of one day owning a small holding so we can have our very own baby animals.
