We don’t very often get the chance to put our glad rags on and head up to London for a posh meal – both Daniel and I are total foodies, but more often than not, cook and entertain at home. Eating out can be expensive, and we both have really high expectations with our food because we LOVE cooking and eating. We therefore tend to have people over for dinner because there is nothing worse than spending a heap of money on just OK food, when you can buy really fabulous fresh ingredients and you have a husband that can cook like Daniel can (by the way, this was one of the main reasons I married this man).
Daniel’s dad invited us to the rather posh and wonderful Chez Bruce for lunch to celebrate his 70th birthday this weekend just gone, and we had a wonderful afternoon eating lots of simply amazing food, drinking champagne and talking and laughing with Daniel’s family. Perfect. I am such a lucky girl.
I started with a crab salad, followed by roasted skate wing with a beautifully light pear and almond tart to finish. DELICIOUS.
The birthday boy had a blast, and Daniel looked so dashing in his suit!
I had a sneaky sleep in the car on the way home (too much food + bubbles = sleepy Lucy), and then we spent the rest of the evening playing charades. Fun times.
Hope you had a lovely weekend too.
